About Me |
Single parent . Late start to investing for retirement. I paid off close to $100,000 debt (mainly student loans) during the pandemic. I figured out how I can retire at 58-60 if I stay diligent, continue to live frugally and keep investing. |
Why I Joined |
To keep track of the journey. |
Best Financial Decision |
I'm not a person meant to have CC's. I no longer have any credit cards/accounts of any kind. Which has equated to investing more, even while living in a VHCOL area. |
Worst Financial Decision |
Student Loans. Putting myself in consumer debt. Financing cars. That kind of debt is really quite a banshee. |
Current Investing Strategy |
I am playing catch up (investing $25K-$35K/year). Pre-tax: 401K Post-tax (set it and forget it): Variable Acct > Savings & Investing > Bill Pay Acct |
How do you manage your finances? |
One variable spending account. The rest rolled of my paycheck rolled into a bill pay account (add money and bills/investments/savings are automated). When the variable spending budget runs out, I have no more to spend until the next payday. It's a great method for those with executive function challenges. |

I need financial help with... |
I have 5-9 years until semi/retirement. How to moderately accelerate the NW aside from saving & investing. |
