About Me
24 year old with a 23 year old partner on the path to an early retirement (hopefully). Salary range is our combined income since we're married now; occupation/education is my personal status.
Why I Joined
I enjoy being able to have a nice, clean interface for tracking net worth.
Best Financial Decision
Purchasing a house virtually as soon as possible.
Worst Financial Decision
The payday loan when I was 18 was objectively the worst; but some of the dumb consumer debt I acquired at 20-21 stings worse. We should've learned.
Current Investing Strategy
Pay down the dumb debt, save for retirement, avoid lifestyle creep. We've got 13% going to retirement right now (7% ours, 6% match), and I'm always looking for new places to save and diversify our holdings.
How do you manage your finances?
Updating our register in Quicken every day when possible, Personal Capital for retirement and day-to-day net worth tracking.
What tools do you use?
Quicken and Personal Capital are the big ones; though USAA has a decent 'life planner' that works okay enough. Good ol' pen and paper for some problems.
I need financial help with...
Building passive income sources and trading options. They'll come with time, though; debt clearance is the #1 goal right now.
Favorite Authors
I don't really have any. I like Dave Ramsey to...some degree, but I wish he'd be more honest in terms of optimal by numbers rather than optimal by principle. I get why he does it the way he does, but sometimes I just scratch my head at the advice.
Favorite Books
1984 or Brave New World, depending on my dystopian regime of choice for the day.
Favorite Movies
Titanic...and pretty much any Disney movie. Ever.
