About Me
As of July 2021 the entity here is now fully a couple (combined finances) no longer one individual person. Hence the spike up.
Why I Joined
To track net worth and look at others as well - comparing self
Best Financial Decision
Starting at least even if it was a little late, still better than never! Really getting into investing and growing plus keeping track to really see if results were getting achieved. Over time the path gets clearer to see something is going right.

Looking hard at and learning from past mistakes.
Worst Financial Decision
Leaving it fairly late to start: Starting from zero in January 2005 at age 35. Should have started 5 if not 10 years earlier!
Some of the real estate wasn't the best. Could have picked better opportunities.
Current Investing Strategy
Build new house during 2022/2023 with reasonable mortgage at the end. Move into it in mid-late 2023. All while still having investments which will continue to grow and then be partly used to clear mortgage completely around mid 2025. Retire some years later. Super to arrive at 60 as clear path. Later in life may be eligible for a part pension in addition to draw down of accumulation, unless investments are too large and then doesn't matter anyway.

A portfolio of somewhat speculative stocks on the cusp now that have performed exceptionally well and expect to still rise significantly in the long run. They may even spike in the ST in which case will make a trade.

Expect WBT.ASX to run ahead in 2023 - may trade out half for AKP.ASX to have that have its run then (it is due ). Will see.

A jointly owned (with my brother) investment property which is positively geared with only 50% debt and will provide initial retirement funding when sold.

------------------------------------------

TARGETS
$1M Networth (couple) [CHECK - FEB 2022]
Networth higher than the NetworthShare Median (approx $1.2M*) [CHECK - MAR 2023]
*This is USD while my networth is AUD - however will ignore that
Networth higher than AUD equiv (approx $1.775M) - NEXT GOAL
Stretch Goal:
AUD $1M assets outside of Home (couple) - if possible (long shot but maybe if can hold some of the investments into the VLT however if retire earlier I need money - will see)

GOALS
Pay off house debt with part of stocks once grown higher
Sell IP
Retire mid decade
How do you manage your finances?
Deep research into seemingly speculative stocks that can actually offer significant potential balanced out with safe solid real estate investments.
