Notes:
Cash wise we finally got credit for our canceled cruise so that bumped up the cash significantly. They had me worried for a bit that I wouldn't see the money other than as a "credit" on another cruise but they finally came through a week or so ago. Retirement continues on it's tear cracking the 1M mark for the first time ever. It's crazy to think I have that amount, nice, but crazy. I'll probably skim a bit more over to money market equivalents soon to fully solidify my planned retirement date. We spent a lot of time traveling out of state (driving) despite COVID-19 to attend to things with my BIL's estate, to include all the fiasco of taking possession of his truck (all are healthy, precautions taken). Told my kids this is the difference between people with no goal in mind and someone wanting something because they recognize the payoff. Many folks would have just packed it in as not worth the hassle because it was just stupid obstacle after stupid obstacle (mainly Government related and due to COVID and a new computer system at MVA) that delayed things and cost small change money and hassle time. But as seen by the Cars column I took possession this quarter. My eldest child got a job and it's one that they can pretty much live anywhere so they are seriously considering leaving the high cost area they are in now. I'm just happy they got something worthwhile going on, otherwise end of the month they'd have had to move. My other graduated and is hunting jobs in the region in the medical profession, so I don't think they'll have a problem there as long as they aren't too picky. Despite many of the struggles, so far we are blessed that no one in the family is either become seriously ill or been devastated financially.
