Notes:
Half way through the year and economy has taken a drastic turn! As of this writing, there is a serious likelihood that by next month I will be jobless! I have had a falling out with my team manager and am looking to move out! With hiring freeze in my firm, the alternatives are quite limited and as such unless I find something outside.. I will be jobless in a months time. Time to seriously consider alrernatives ...

I am just hoping I dont have to draw down on my investments and the emergency funds should last us for 3 to 6 months until I find myself a new gig.. if push comes to shove. Do not want to draw down on my investments esp at this point in time when if anything.. there are bargains to be had!

2nd week of July: I took a week off work! Needed the break to digest the news that I will be on the chopping block in a months time. Made some adjustments in portfolio to again build up some cash emergency funds to sustain through period of jobless ness should it come to that.
Btw, as I was updating numbers for week 2, I noticed.. gold has taken a big hit in the past week!

Week 3: On personal front, I now have a few leads on potential next role.. nothing concrete yet and/or confirmed. However, promising is all I want to say! Next week, family travels (lot of fun and lot of expense coming up). Would be great to take a break from work and markets for a week! In terms of the week, it was particularly brutal for me. Most of my investments fared worse than the market. However given my work situation I do not have the courage to exploit this downturn to add to my positions.. hopefully things will change for better soon!

Final Week of July: I missed an update for the 4th week of July, given family travels! Into the final week of July, one would be tempted to think the downturn is over... market rebound was impressive and driven mostly by FAANGs (except for F). I made some notes on personal non-investment updates recently but on second thought, I have decided to no long update status of my personal updates except those related for finances. That said, with market recovery, so did my investments recover.. I do have a reasonably large investment in Chinese stocks and unfortumately, for all the gains in US markets, chinese big-tech struggled in the last week.. for an overall muted returns for my portfolio.
