Notes:
10/01/2011 This is one of those periods I'd just assume to forget. Still hammering away at the mortgage - no mercy. Money has been extremely tight. As if it weren't tough enough after starting up the 401k contributions again, pension contributions just kicked in, and the escrow on the mortgage is headed up about $150 a month. A couple things to help counter the pain is the fact that the wife got a part time job, and I got a raise which will bump the income up about $3k to $105k. Even still I think it's only a matter of time before we stop the 401k to get a little breathing room. There is essentially no wiggle room at the moment. One big house or car repair bill and we're going to need to sell some stock - not really the best time to be doing that... This month we did the quarterly update on our home's value. As we had expected we're down. We expect this trend to continue - we'll be below $200k for sure next time we update the numbers. The unemployment and foreclosure levels are still way too high for this number to make any meaningful long term uptrend. 10/22/2011 The market has been moving up nicely over the past couple of weeks. Come early November the G20 will meet to discuss Greece. That could be the tipping point for this rally. We'll have to wait and see... Work has been brutal. Sleep deprived. Six more years???
