Notes:
03/01/2014 Medical bills added under "Other Debts" Received our tax refund of roughly $4,500 about a week ago. All said, it looks like the medical bills will largely be covered by our tax refund. Which is sad, because we were planning to buy a shed and pay for our vacation in July with that money. At some point we're going to need to dip into savings (Stock funds) to cover upcoming expenses such as the shed and vacation. We continue to stay the course paying down the mortgage. Our amortization schedule, which has some minor math issues, suggests that we are on track to pay it off at the end of 2017. :-) 04/02/2014 It's too early to log our April totals, but I had to capture the fact that for the first time since purchasing the house, we have more in investment assets (taxable accounts) than we owe on our mortgage. We are $172.99 in the black. :-) I'm guessing this is a sure sign that the market will roll over, and put us back in the red for months to come. Even if that does not occur, we are about to dip into our investments in the next week or so to buy a shed - one of the last pieces in our back yard remodeling project. We plan to cash out about $2k for that. So this achievement will likely be short lived. Whatever the case, I'm going to savor the moment. Cheers!
