Notes:
I did it -- I hit my "decamillionaire" goal and I did it ahead of schedule (18 months early). This was due to amazing day-trading returns from last month and this month (an additional $127,000 from TSLA and $80,000 from FEYE). In terms of my day-trading, I am up 26% for the year and I generally keep most of that money in cash overnight. I should hit my next major milestone--what I call "true very high net worth" status ($5MM sans any real estate)--in Q1 of 2016. That means $5MM in cash and stocks. Since the $5MM figure is a bit dated, I'm eager to see that grow to $7MM feel like I've "truly" hit "very high net worth," but it's still a milestone. That should happen sometime in 2018, when I'll be 46. Incidentally, I believe the value of my real estate holdings have gone up (I actually was contacted by my realtor concerning this) and I could justify increasing them, but for now I'm going to leave them at the current level. One of the reasons for this is that I noticed I've been valuing them on a post-expense, but pre-tax basis (my total tax liability for them is under $300K) and I like to value things conservatively and on a pure liquidation basis.
