Notes:
I got laid off this month and...I retired this month! I've been planning to head out around this time for about 18 months, the severance payment was the icing on the cake. If I hadn't been laid off I would have left anyway. In November 2008 I decided I needed to get financially independent and get out of work as soon as possible and in march 2009 I discovered NetworthIQ. There's been some investing missteps along the way, and I've overspent on travel, but I'm really pleased with how things have turned out. I'll miss my salary and the security it brings but I can't see myself setting foot in a work place again. I'm free (assuming cfiresim calc holds up:)

My networth as at my day of retirement (22 December) was 1,758,000. This was made up of net financial assets of $1,193,000 and the value of my house.
