My other assets are 529 plans as well. This month I add my first deduction. Gulp.

Wait a minute. I just looked at your balance again. How many kids do you have? lol

Do in-laws count as kids if they are living in your roof? I have two in my nest. One graduated debt free already.

Hey MB50, So I see you said you are going to retire once your house is 5% of your net worth. Really? That's a lot of net worth for retirement or are you planning on moving?

I used to drive to Greenville a lot. I wasn't really that serious when I wrote that although 6M is probably achievable in 10 years ( I don't expect my house to appreciate that much). I plan to retire in 2026 when I turn 55 with a paid off home and nest egg of around 3-4M. But I can retire with a third of that. How about you?

I have moved so many times I am not sure I will stay in my current home however I will not retire until I live in a paid for house. The house now is grand but not necessary so I could downsize. I would like to hit $4M before I retire with low expenses but $3M could do it if I am forced to delay. The goal is retirement at 2029. I have a bit of work to do on that mortgage. ;)
