I would not say this has been my best wealth-building month.
$1,300 in car maintenance (clutch, smog, exhaust, oil change, vacuum leak) more or less stole all the potential gains from me this month. On the plus side, I won't need to service my car for some time.
I added a new position to my dividend portfolio this month: Waste Management (WM). Initially I bought in at $34 a share and added to my positions just below $31 a share. I'm looking forward to reinvesting these dividends for years to come.
The debt ceiling debacle took a toll on my investment balances but I'm not going to let it get to me. I'm in this for the long haul and, if anything, this is a minor speed bump in the road to a happy and productive life.
Doing my best to reach my goal of obtaining a net worth of $150,000 by the age of 30. I'll be 31 in February of 2014 so I'd better get moving... |
