Notes:
Recently I began writing articles for the online blog seekingalpha.com which will also bring in some significant authorship earnings on a quarterly basis. I've been able to increase my salary by about 20% this month by submitting articles and will invest this money when the time comes. This month I also learned I'll likely be eligible for a FHA loan once my taxes are filed and completed. Looking forward to looking into real estate as a viable way of diversifying my assets! More updates to come on that venture. Taxable account dividends I received in January of 2012: 04Jan, KMB, $10.94 06Jan, AEO, $21.87 13Jan, KFT, $7.10 25Jan, CSCO, $6.42 25Jan, GE, $22.95 -------------------------- Jan 2012 taxable dividend receipt total: $69.28 I lowered my 401(k) percentage to 15% of my salary which allows me to sock away nearly $12,000 a year plus an additional $5,000 a year to the Roth IRA. I've begun adding the difference to my taxable brokerage account in order to purchase undervalued dividend-paying stocks. I'm doing my best to reach my goal of obtaining a net worth of $150,000 by the age of 30. I'll be 31 in February of 2014 and I believe I can make this goal.
