Notes:
This month I pulled in another $850 writing financial articles online. Believe it or not, after a two year wait I was finally approved for an FHA home loan early this month! I've been looking for homes and have even made a few offers. I have a strong feeling I'll be in a San Diego home by the end of May. Taxable account dividends I received in March of 2012: 01Mar, AFL, $31.43 01Mar, CHD, $4.92 01Mar, COP, $24.83 06Mar, V, $3.10 08Mar, MSFT, $9.80 09Mar, EXC, $13.41 09Mar, XOM, $10.55 12Mar, TGT, $13.09 12Mar, MMM, $8.32 13Mar, JNJ, $19.11 15Mar, DOV, $8.61 15Mar, TAP, $15.02 15Mar, SVU, $14.09 23Mar, WM, $24.33 -------------------------- Mar 2012 taxable dividend receipt total: $200.61 I dropped my 401(k) contributions down to 5% -- plus a 4% match -- which will allow me to sock away about $5,500 a year to my tax-sheltered account and I'm also contributing $5,000 a year to the Roth IRA. Still on track to reach my goal of obtaining a net worth of $150,000 by the age of 30. I'll be 31 in February of 2014 and I believe I can make this goal. Just one more thing to add: buying a house incurs quite a few expenses (loans, appraisals, up front taxes, etc.) I'm somewhat nervous this may push my net worth down momentarily, but hopefully things will normalize shortly afterward and my net worth will continue to tick upward for the foreseeable future.
