Notes:
Chomping away at the last bit of the student loans, which is great! Everything else leaves something to be desired. Home value and retirement accounts are down; but the downturn was nowhere near as dramatic as it has been in the recent past (knock on wood!). Have a balance on the CC from the month of July - airline tickets, clothing, gifts, etc.; all a result of what? A new man in my life. On top of it, a long distance relationship! Awful I know!!!! Will really have to curb things in the coming months. I have been so disciplined for years, and this new reality is throwing me off my game. Not cheap. It has been pretty fun tho... In all fairness, he's spent a HECK of a lot more than I have on plane tickets, gifts and paying when we go out, so that's been nice. Anywho.... We'll see where it goes. :-) August brings my first payments for home insurance and county property taxes since I came out of escrow with the bank. I have a chunk in an ING savings to cover the tax payment, so that won't be TOO big of a hit on the monthly budget. I'm also making a one time donation (pledged) at church for our new location, and need to pay off the credit card. All that means that the snowball will certainly be smaller for August, but I still have high hopes for a September payoff of the student loans. Once the Student loans are paid off, I'll be making a monthly 'escrow payments' into my own savings account to cover the amount needed for the property taxes and insurance. Just as I was paying to the bank. Only this time I'll be earning interest on my money! The good news: 1.) Got a small ($400) spot cash award - should show up in my next pay check. 2.) Got a small increase (about $3,000) - should also show up in the next pay check. 3.) 2nd parent found work and is actually relocating. Pay is good, so that is a HUGE blessing. The parents will be apart for a while, but those are the extreme measures that people are having to take in times such as these. Hopefully one or the other will find work in the town the other is in soon. Can only hope and pray. All in all, God is GOOD!!!!!!! --------------------------------------------------------------------- Home value is updated monthly from Zillow.com/Zestimate (Purchase price was $370K in August 2006). Other Mortgage = HELOC/2nd Mortgage
