Notes:
Quotes of the Month: "Concern yourself not with what you tried and failed in, but with what is still possible for you to do." - Pope John XXIII "Continue when discouraged, for where there is no faith in the future, there is no power in the present." - John C. Maxwell So I'm sure everyone is experiencing the same disappointment in the current state of the markets and housing. Both continue to trend downwards for the second straight month, and it was hard to see all the gains for the year disappear (in the 401(k)). I also ended up paying $900 onto the credit card balance for the month of August, money that should have gone onto the snowball or the annual home owner's insurance and tax payments, but alas, no one is perfect. The rest of the balance ($265) will be paid off this week. The situation with all the extra unbudgeted spending due to the long distance relationship has resolved itself - it ended! :0) That's a good thing actually... Half of county taxes are due in September, so the Student Loan Debt Snowball will be smaller, and it looks like Student Loan Retirement day will be put off until October, but that's still earlier than anticipated. Trying to do a better job with carefully tracking ALL expenses and using cash for discretionary spending. Really looking forward to October and reallocating the snowball from debt payoff to building a long-term emergency fund. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Home value is updated monthly from Zillow.com/Zestimate (Purchase price was $370K in August 2006). Other Mortgage = HELOC/2nd Mortgage
