Trying out the budget feature. Please let me know if anything looks out of line.

You did a great job of putting in all details of the expenses in the budget. Looks good! I did notice you include the 401K contributions in expense. I did not as the 401k contributions are deducted from the paycheck and I did not include it in my take home so did not mention it at all.

Thanks for the feedback, sertra! I didn't initially include my 401k contributions, but thought it might be beneficial to show for increased transparency, and may help others in a similar situation to see how much I'm saving for retirement at my current income level. You make a valid point though, it's mostly out of sight & out of mind since I never see it hitting my bank account, and if I wasn't super disciplined I might be tempted to spend it. 😂 I appreciate you sharing your budget so that I can confirm my expenses aren't out of whack!

I like your reason for including it. I have modified mine as well to show the 401K contributions now.

Very detailed budgeting. Curious do you have kids/family expenses as well?

Thanks guys. I'm currently single and don't have any dependents to support (including kids, stay-at-home spouse, elderly parents, etc.), so my expenses are probably less than those who do.
