"Bomb Bomb Bomb - Bomb Bomb Iran" -John McCain

What an odd twist of fate.

When I first saw the news I thought - there goes the market. But the move down of less than one percent amounts to a shrug. Who knows what will come of this in the days to come, but for the moment it's a blip in what's been a spectacular run.

The peck in the back on our heads gets louder and louder to pare down our equity holdings, but the greed that comes with not wanting to leave the party early is winning out for the moment.

The FIRE movement has also bit us some, as we stare at cheap real estate in southern Florida on Zillow, and think for a moment here and there that maybe we could just hang up the gloves, exit stage left, and live off our stock holdings and the sale of our house for a while until we hit 60 when the 401k and pension kick in...

We have a retirement clock we keep, and it was coming close to going off, but today we pushed it ahead four years to 2024, when our daughter completes High School. So time to put our heads down a little longer and push forward.

Happy New Year!
