|Starting at least even if it was a little late, still better than never! Really getting into investing and growing plus keeping track to really see if results were getting achieved. Over time the path gets clearer to see something is going right.|

|Leaving it fairly late to start: Starting from zero in January 2005 at age 35. Should have started 5 if not 10 years earlier!|
Some of the real estate wasn't the best. Could have picked better opportunities.
|Current Investing Strategy|
|Build new house during 2022 with minimal mortgage at the end. move in in 2023. All while still having investments which will continue to grow and then be partly used to clear mortgage completely in mid 2024. At that time will also retire (at 55) and keep building remainder of investments to see me through for the long run. Super to arrive at 60 as clear path. Later in life may be eligible for a part pension in addition to draw down of accumulation.|
A good mix of investments: Solid growing and dividends paying REITs and some banks via personal savings and Margin Loan along with another portfolio of more speculative stocks (EV materials plus novel semiconductor development) that have performed exceptionally well and expect to still rise quite significantly. The ML portfolio and part of the spec one will be used to clear mortgage a bit later. Minor allocation to crypto as an outlier investment. A jointly owned (with my brother) investment property which is positively geared with only 50% debt and will provide initial retirement funding when sold. Owning land outright (to be settled in 2021), for building final home on - for rent free living. Okay "balanced" Super fund which is expected to double by 60 and be additional boost 5 years into retirement.
Believer in the 18.6 year property cycle - set for a peak in 2026. Majority of investments other than home to be mostly wound up by then or converted into safe investments for the inevitable bear years following that.
