Best Financial Decision |
Investing in Real Estate. Saving after-tax aggressively gave me many options. Living below our means so we could save while we were young. Investing in career and making great W2 income. Dual incomes makes a difference. Marrying a woman with a good head on her shoulders who does not spend each penny we make. |
Worst Financial Decision |
1. Buying too much house. 2. Too much savings in cash. 3. Not using Indexes from the start and buying lots of stinkers that I rode to zero/bankruptcy! 4. Not understanding the value of Bonds and asset allocation strategies to have dry-powder when stocks crash and were cheap, and also for locking in gains when stocks are high. I should have bought real estate earlier, and more often while it was low and deals were plentiful ---In summary, had I known then what I know now, I would be comfortably retired right now at 45. |
Current Investing Strategy |
1. Use tax advantaged space first. 2. Index Investing everywhere possible 3. Balanced asset allocation for investments (60% Equity, 30% Bonds, 10% Alternative) 4. Real Estate for cash flow. 5. Cash flow equals freedom. 6. 529 for Kids College |
