Notes:
Made the 5500 Roth contribution for 2016 in December, and January will be pulled out of cash this week. A week or so ago I also put $15000 of my cash holdings into a money market account. It's only at 1% (vs. the .75% savings account), but I figured why not have it make a little more while I'm building up cash - it's possible in the next year or two there will be expenses for wedding, house, and a baby, so don't want to move it to anything more risky. Boyfriend is applying for jobs across the country, so it's possible we may have temporary long-distance expenses (2 rents) or a complete move in the next 6 months. Yesterday I checked my last paycheck from 2016. My total pay for the year was $120k. I am still sort of blown away at how lucky I am to be paid so well for stuff I really enjoy doing. Sometimes I work long hours and my brain is complete mush by the time I go home, but overall this has to be the about the easiest way to make this much money.
