Notes:
Career: The past month was very much a backwards slide in terms of work. I was extremely distracted for most of the month, a little by performance reviews but mostly by life in general. Work is now an "Ugh field" (see explanation by @robertwiblin). I need to remedy this, and soon.

Life: We fully recovered from Covid early last month and went to a full schedule of open houses over President's Day long weekend. We made an offer on the place we liked best out of the dozen or so we visited, and our offer got accepted! We're under contract for a house in San Mateo County. There was only one other bid offering 50k over our bid, but they included a loan contingency whereas we did not so the seller selected us. We knew about foundation issues when we made our non-contingent offer, but decided to go forward anyway because we like the place. We got a foundation inspection done after we went into contract. Unfortunately the engineer said it would cost ~25k to lift the house back to level since it's settled unevenly by 3 inches, but fortunately we can do this work after we move in. So we've given our 30 day notice on our apartment and things are progressing fast.

Financial: I locked in a 30-yr fixed rate mortgage with a 3% interest rate based on a 500k deposit relationship with a big bank. My credit score is over 780 (barely) while my spouse's is not so we decided to have only my name on the mortgage in order to get the best rates. We'll need to put 325k down but only have about half in cash. I will sell stocks to fund the remaining half. I have about 40% of my net worth in my employer's or former employer's stocks and want to sell those to rebalance my portfolio. Alternately, we could decide to follow a different asset allocation strategy and sell other things instead. We're debating this decision right now. Finally I'm about to start in kind transfers to a new brokerage account to establish that 500k deposit relationship. Wish me luck!

Health & wellness: I started the Pathfinder program on darebee.com and somehow convinced my mom to start it too. I hope we can keep each other motivated and get at least half way through the program this month.
