Notes:
Can’t believe that things have been so hectic, I have forgotten to make an entry in nearly two months. During this time, I messed up really badly. I mismanaged my ledger and thought I had more money then I actually did. I am glad I caught it in time as I was able to set up an overdraft protection plan against my credit card and have my last payment partially covered by my credit card. I am not sure what the fees are that will be associated with this, but it is a frustrating experience because it was caused by one charge that I shouldn’t have incurred in the first place. Grand ‘ol NYS strikes again. My initial agreement was to complete my NYC tax payments by July 24th, 2013, however by the time I made my final payment (July 17th), NYS assessed me with a late penalty fee and interest charge. Naturally when I called, they decided that they can’t reverse the interest fee and that I would have to fax them (isn’t that obsolete?) my justification to lift the late penalty fee. I decided that this bureaucratic nonsense would just be a stall tactic to assess me with more late fees so I opted to make the payment to attain a zero balance on this account. This is definitely a crappy experience, but I will live on and continue to pay down this debt. At least this frees up $600/month that I can divert to other expenses. Also, my stocks having been making some huge gains on the market. Hope there are no massive drops in the near future.
